A Dream Stage Becomes Reality
On August 15, 2025 (local time), BLACKPINK took the stage at London’s Wembley Stadium, marking a historic milestone as the first-ever K-pop girl group to headline the iconic venue.
The stadium, renowned as the “home of pop” and a dream stage where legends like Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Oasis, and Taylor Swift have performed, has now been graced by BLACKPINK. This concert comes six years after BTS became the first K-pop act to perform there in 2019.
With a maximum capacity of 90,000, Wembley is more than just a venue — it’s a career-defining achievement, and BLACKPINK lived up to the moment.
An Ocean of Pink and Unstoppable Energy
As the lights went down, Wembley transformed into a sea of pink. Tens of thousands of BLINKs waved lightsticks, sang along in English and Korean, and turned the stadium into a giant chorus.
Rosé addressed the crowd: “It feels surreal. We might be the first female K-pop band to perform here. But you should all feel proud — you made this possible. Thank you, BLINKs!”
Jisoo lifted both thumbs high with a bright smile, while Jennie and Lisa joined in, their joy echoed by deafening cheers.
Throughout the 2-hour, 20-minute set, the members showcased not just vocals and choreography but their charisma, stage presence, and playful interactions — proving why they belong among the world’s top acts.
A Setlist of Global Hits
The concert featured a powerful lineup of BLACKPINK’s biggest songs, including:
- Kill This Love
- Pink Venom
- How You Like That
- Shut Down
- Pretty Savage
- Whistle
- Lovesick Girls
Fans sang every lyric, even in Korean, and the call-and-response energy filled Wembley with chants of “BLACKPINK in your area!”
A dance challenge segment turned the camera on the audience, where fans enthusiastically performed BLACKPINK’s choreography, showcasing the global reach of their influence.
Solo Stages and Group Evolution
Each member also delivered solo stages, drawing on the nearly two years of solo activities that preceded the tour. Rather than being a hiatus, their individual projects expanded BLACKPINK’s range, adding more depth and variety to their group identity.
Highlights included:
- Jennie’s Like Jennie
- Rosé’s Apartment
- Group favorites like Boombayah and their latest track Jump, which had fans literally shaking the ground as they jumped in unison.
London: A Special Connection
London holds a unique place in BLACKPINK’s journey.
- In 2023, they became the first K-pop act to headline the Hyde Park British Summer Time Festival.
- Later that year, they received the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) from King Charles III at Buckingham Palace.
Rosé reflected: “Last time in London was incredible, but this feels like a whole new level.” She even charmed the crowd by eating a traditional British scone with jam in a backstage clip shown on screen.
A Global Crowd of BLINKs
The audience wasn’t just from the UK. Fans traveled from Germany, Belgium, Norway, and beyond. Many parents attended with their children, explaining how their daughters introduced them to BLACKPINK but eventually, they too became fans.
- A Belgian family said: “Our daughters love BLACKPINK so much, we had to come. We also love their message — ‘Black’ for life’s challenges, ‘Pink’ for living with positivity.”
- A Norwegian mother shared: “This was my daughter’s birthday gift. I love that BLACKPINK shows positivity, especially as women.”
- German fans praised K-pop’s sense of connection with fans, saying: “It feels like the artists truly know us.”
Many fans spoke in Korean, greeting journalists with “Annyeonghaseyo” and finishing interviews with “Kamsahamnida”, showing how BLACKPINK’s influence extends into culture and language.
Kolumverse Verdict
From Hyde Park in 2023 to Wembley Stadium in 2025, BLACKPINK’s journey illustrates their extraordinary global ascent. The London concerts didn’t just prove they belong on the same stage as pop’s greatest — they cemented BLACKPINK’s legacy as pioneers who continue to redefine what K-pop can achieve worldwide.
Their dream became reality — and in the process, they inspired a new generation of fans who believe anything is possible.
