LE SSERAFIM is back in Japan with something truly different. On June 24, the group released their 4th Japanese single album ‘DIFFERENT’, delivering an energetic anthem of individuality and confidence.
‘DIFFERENT’ marks LE SSERAFIM’s first original Japanese title track and their bold leap into disco funk—a vibrant genre full of bounce and groove. The song, pre-released on June 9, quickly caught fire, debuting at #9 on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart and hitting #4 on Billboard Japan’s Hot Shot Songs.
The single includes: • ‘DIFFERENT’ – a message about embracing what makes you unique • ‘HOT’ (Japanese version) – an anthem about passion, originally from their Korean 5th mini album • ‘Kawaii’ (Prod. Gen Hoshino) – with English lyrics by Huh Yunjin, celebrating the power of individuality through cuteness
All three songs share a unifying theme: living as your true self is what sets you apart.
• First time LE SSERAFIM dives into disco funk • Collaboration with Japanese star Gen Hoshino • Theme song for Netflix’s upcoming ‘My Melody & Kuromi’ series • Their 4th Japanese single enters multiple global charts
Fans are loving the retro-funky vibes and empowering lyrics. “This is peak FEARNOT energy!” one fan wrote. Others praised Yunjin’s lyrical work and the cross-cultural production that ties Japan and Korea together.
LE SSERAFIM recently finished shows in Nagoya, Osaka, Kitakyushu, and Saitama as part of their Japanese tour. The encore concerts will take place at Tokyo Dome on November 18–19, marking another major milestone for the group.
