Sana Breaks Her Silence
For the first time, TWICE’s Sana has opened up about her widely discussed dating rumors with G-Dragon, shedding light on the situation months after it first made headlines.
In the August 7 episode of her YouTube show Sana’s Coolterview (Season 2 finale), Sana reflected on past guests, including G-Dragon and Dex, and shared some candid behind-the-scenes memories.
How the Rumors Started
The rumors began back in April when TWICE performed as a guest act for Coldplay’s Korea concert. G-Dragon posted a clip from the performance on his social media — but notably, tagged only Sana’s account. This sparked immediate speculation among fans and media, fueling reports of a possible romance.
At the time, neither G-Dragon’s team nor TWICE’s agency commented directly on the matter. It wasn’t until later that it was revealed G-Dragon would be appearing on Sana’s Coolterview.
Sana’s Side of the Story
In the latest episode, Sana cautiously addressed the situation:
“I don’t know if I should say this, but…” she began, explaining that the infamous social media post came just days after filming the show with G-Dragon.
Sana revealed that her TWICE members already knew about G-Dragon’s guest appearance, and that the post was likely a friendly gesture. However, because the episode had not yet aired, they couldn’t clarify at the time without spoiling the surprise.
Why She Stayed Silent
G-Dragon’s side explained that tagging Sana was simply a show of friendliness, but they refrained from commenting immediately to avoid revealing his guest appearance before it aired.
Sana admitted she was tempted to speak up:
“It was only a few days after filming. I couldn’t say anything… My mouth was itching, but I waited and waited, and it finally aired a month later.”
She added that she was happy to present fans with such an unexpected guest lineup:
“It was a combination of people you’d never see together unless it was Coolterview. That made it special.”
A Unique Guest Combination
The episode featuring G-Dragon and Dex was described by Sana as feeling spontaneous and memorable. She recalled it as one of the highlights of the season, not only for the surprise factor but also for the chemistry between the guests.
Looking Ahead
With Sana’s Coolterview Season 2 wrapped, Sana has solidified her presence not just as a global K-pop idol but also as a charismatic host capable of creating viral moments. As for the dating rumors, her candid clarification may finally put the speculation to rest — though it’s unlikely to stop fans from replaying the now-famous social media post.
