On the June 7 broadcast of MBC’s Music Core, the race for first place lit up with an electrifying match-up: RIIZE, SEVENTEEN, and IU battling for the coveted trophy.
RIIZE entered the competition with their powerful title track “Fly Up” from their first full-length album ODYSSEY, released on May 19. The group’s global momentum is undeniable—topping charts like Melon TOP100, Bugs, Vibe, Apple Music Korea, QQ Music in China, and Line Music in Japan. Their choreography-driven “youth musical” concept and infectious energy in “Fly Up” captured fans worldwide.
SEVENTEEN isn’t backing down. With their 5th full album HAPPY BURSTDAY, they’ve already broken K-pop records in 2025. The album sold over 2.5 million copies in its first week, and their track “THUNDER” held steady at the top of multiple charts, including Melon and Bugs, proving their reign isn’t over.
IU returned with a long-awaited gift for fans—꽃갈피 셋 (Kkotgalpi 3), her third remake album. Released on May 27, this album marks her first in 8 years since Kkotgalpi 2, and her first new release since 2024’s The Winning. The title track “Never Ending Story” quickly swept #1 on major streaming platforms like Melon, Genie, and Bugs, reaffirming her status as a digital queen.
